What to Expect with Aquatic Therapy
After an evaluation, your individualized treatment plan may include
Standing/walking exercises: In neck-deep water, your therapist will assist you with walking across the pool and/or performing leg/arm movements. Ankle weights may be used for resistance or spinal decompression.
Deep water exercises: Deep water exercises are used for aerobic conditioning, building balance and core strength, and decompression.
Floating exercises: Manual therapy techniques are performed while floating with support from a headrest and other buoyancy devices.
