Why Choose Kettering Health for Lung Cancer Treatment?
We want you to take control of your health and work with your doctor to know your risk. We encourage screenings and prevention measures that can make a difference in your health. We promise to be with you through every step of this process, including screening, diagnosis, treatment, education, and remission. We are here to support you and provide you with everything you need to recover.
Early detection
While no one can completely prevent lung cancer, a few simple lifestyle choices can make a difference in maintaining your health. Consider eating a healthy diet, exercising three or more times a week, keeping an eye on your weight, limiting your daily alcohol consumption, and avoiding (or quitting) smoking.
You can’t change your family history, genetics, and childhood exposure, so make sure you disclose these details to your doctor. These details are important for your doctor to know your risk and recommend necessary screenings that can help detect lung cancer early.
We know that early detection can mean the difference between a positive or negative prognosis. So, at Kettering Health, we’ve developed a low-cost, early detection program for those at risk of lung cancer. Our program includes a low-dose lung CT screening that has proven to detect 85% of early-stage lung cancers.
We are also able to perform a PET scan, biopsy, bronchoscopy, and other procedures to determine if something suspicious is actually lung cancer.
Diagnosis
The symptoms of lung cancer take years to develop, making it critical to have an experienced team on your side for diagnosis. Kettering Health offers the diagnostic services you need, along with support services to provide the educational and emotional tools to help you manage your diagnosis and treatment.
If your doctor suspects lung cancer, they might recommend the following scans:
- Ion Robotic Bronchoscopy
- Biopsy
- Chest X-ray
- CT Scan
- MRI
- PET Scan
