We create a rehabilitation program specific to your unique needs. Our expert team will motivate you and help you to reach your full potential following a spinal cord injury.
A referral is required for any patient with any condition to be seen at the NeuroRehab and Balance Center.
Occupational Therapists
An occupational therapist can help with
- Daily activities: Our occupational therapists can help you regain the ability to do everyday tasks such as eating, bathing, dressing, cooking, and general home upkeep. They can also assist with community and job reintegration.
- Strength and mobility training: Through Saebo© orthoses and supports, as well as Bioness® electrical stimulation, our therapists can help you strengthen your upper body function following a spinal cord injury.
- Safety recommendations: Our therapists can work with you to introduce home safety devices and train your caregivers to support you best. They can also provide wheelchair evaluations and assist with driving rehabilitation.
Physical TherapistsÂ
Our physical therapists can help with
- Strength training: Our physical therapists can help you regain your strength through techniques such as body weight-supported activities and Bioness® electrical stimulation.
- Mobility training: Using technology like the Rifton Tram ©, our therapists can help you regain your mobility. They can also help with bed and floor transfers, walking, and wheelchair mobility. Our therapists also provide high-intensity gait training.
Exercise Physiologists
Our exercise physiologists work with patients one-on-one to develop a personalized exercise program during and after therapy for a spinal cord injury.
Case Managers/Social Workers
Case managers and social workers are essential to help patients connect with additional resources following a spinal cord injury. They can
- Coordinate family conferences.
- Help with discharge planning.
- Connect patients with community resources.
