Our Approach to Weight-Loss Surgery
If surgery is right for you, our specialists will work with you to determine how best to meet your goals. Our team approach involves skilled bariatric surgeons, a dietitian, and an exercise physiologist to assist you. We also work with your doctor to coordinate care for your procedure.
Our bariatric surgery center is accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), meaning we’ve achieved the highest standards of care for bariatric surgery. Who Qualifies?
- BMI must be 40 or greater or 35 or greater with applicable obesity related co-morbidities. (The FDA approved surgery for a BMI 30 or greater with obesity related co-morbidities.)
- Must attend our weight loss surgery information session
- Meet with the surgeon for a physical and review medical history to determine the best procedure for them
- Psychiatric evaluations are required
- Nutritional consultations are required
- Must meet any insurance requirements based upon their individual policies
- PCP clearance and medical records are required and any additional medical clearances that may be needed based upon patients individual medical history
Surgical Options
Our weight-loss surgical options include the following:

- Sleeve Gastrectomy Bariatric Surgery: This surgical technique limits the amount of food that can be eaten while allowing the stomach to still work normally. - Revisional Bariatric Surgery: This is a procedure to alter or repair an earlier weight-loss surgery. Because revisional bariatric surgery can be a complex operation, it must be carefully considered against the health hazards of morbid obesity.

We’re here to support you through every step of your weight-loss journey. For the first year after surgery, you’ll have regular follow-up visits at our office to ensure everything is progressing smoothly. Below is a general timeline of your follow-up schedule and who you’ll meet with at each appointment:
- One week: Your surgeon
- One month: Your surgeon, psychologist, dietitian, and exercise physiologist
- Three months: Your surgeon, psychologist, dietitian, and exercise physiologist
- Six months: Physician assistant (PA)
- Nine months: PA
- One year: PA
After your one-year follow-up appointment, you’ll only need to come in once a year. During these annual visits, you’ll meet with a PA who will check in on your progress and overall well-being.
