What Is IASTM Therapy? 

IASTM therapy, or instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization therapy, uses a thin, flat tool to heal soft tissue and promote blood flow after an injury or surgery. 

Why Might I Need IASTM Therapy? 

The main goal of IASTM therapy is to help soft tissue return to normal function. You might benefit from IASTM therapy if you experience

• Overuse or repetitive injuries such as tendonitis and plantar fasciitis 
• Scar tissue after an injury or surgery 
• Numbness or oversensitivity 

What to Expect from IASTM Therapy? 

After an evaluation, your individualized treatment plan may include: 

• Tissue massage: Your therapist will feel for knots or tension in your soft tissue and work it out with either their hand or the IASTM tool. 
• Range of motion improvement: Your therapist will guide you through movement while applying pressure with the IASTM tool to improve your range of motion.
