Fraudulent “MyChart Medicare Kit” Emails
We have been made aware of fraudulent emails that appear to come from MyChart and use subject lines such as, “Your MyChart Medicare Kit Awaits!” These emails may include links, buttons, or requests for personal information and are designed to appear real.
These messages were not sent by Kettering Health and are not related to any official MyChart communication. Their purpose may be to trick recipients into revealing personal or financial information.
What Should You Do If You Receive This Email?
If you receive an email referencing a “MyChart Medicare Kit,” or another unexpected MyChart offer:
- Do not click any links, including “unsubscribe” links
- Do not open any attachments
- Do not provide any personal, financial, insurance, or login information
- Do not reply to the email
- Delete the email from your inbox
How to Spot Suspicious Emails
Be cautious of emails that:
- Create a sense of urgency or pressure you to act immediately
- Request passwords, account information, social security numbers, Medicare information, or financial details
- Contain suspicious links or attachments
- Promise rewards, gifts, kits, benefits, or special offers that you were not expecting
- Come from email addresses that do not match the organization they are claiming to be from
Think You May Have Clicked a Link in the Email?
If you clicked a link, entered information, or believe your account may have been compromised:
- Change your MyChart password immediately
- Change passwords for any other accounts that use the same password
- Review your accounts for unauthorized activity
