About Me
Umair Ali, MD, is a board-certified critical care physician with additional expertise in cardiovascular critical care. His clinical interests include palliative care and point-of-care ultrasound, and he is particularly focused on cardiogenic shock, heart failure, and the management of short-term mechanical circulatory support devices.
Dr. Ali earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George's University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai/Queens Hospital Center and went on to complete fellowship training in critical care medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital. Dr. Ali also holds certification in critical care echocardiography and has served in leadership roles, including chief fellow in critical care medicine.
Dr. Ali chose to become a physician because he wanted to use his problem-solving abilities and passion for helping others to make a meaningful difference in people's lives. He values the opportunity to support patients and their loved ones during some of their most challenging moments and is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care while building trust and strong relationships with families.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ali enjoys collecting and trading non-sports cards. He also values lifelong learning and personal growth, interests that complement his dedication to advancing patient care and medical excellence.
