About Me
Phillip M. Porcelli, DO, is a highly skilled and experienced board-certified neurosurgeon with special interests in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery.
Dr. Porcelli earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. He completed neurosurgery residency and served as the chief neurosurgery resident at Carle BroMenn Medical Center and Central Illinois Neuro Health Sciences in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois. In addition to his medical training and real-world experience, he credits his mentors for instilling in him a patient-centered approach to decision-making, both in operative and non-operative care.
Dr. Porcelli became a doctor because of passion, commitment to serve, and his desire to make a meaningful impact on individuals' lives by improving their health and well-being. He appreciates the unique opportunity to alleviate suffering, diagnose complex medical conditions, and contribute to surgical advancements. He also enjoys working in a collaborative environment with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care.
Dr. Porcelli is married with one daughter. He is a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Reserve and proudly serves as a military neurosurgeon. In his spare time, Dr. Porcelli enjoys playing acoustic and electric guitar, fishing, and cooking. He also takes great pleasure in reading military history, especially military medicine. As a health and fitness advocate who enjoys staying active, he shares this passion with his patients to help them heal.
