Nazir Ahmed, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician working in gastroenterology with special interests in acid reflux disease (GERD), gastrointestinal cancers, pancreaticobiliary and liver disorders.

Dr. Ahmed earned his medical degree from Pondicherry University in Pondicherry, India. He completed his internal medicine residency at Saint Peter's University Hospital at Rutgers University followed by a gastroenterology fellowship at Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, New Jersey.

Dr. Ahmed chose a career in medicine because of his deep desire to help others in a meaningful and compassionate way. He strives to listen to his patients carefully, provide thoughtful support and guide them with empathy and clarity during their most vulnerable moments. This commitment gives his work purpose and fuels his dedication every day.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ahmed enjoys spending quality time with his family, playing squash and table tennis, biking and traveling.
