Mauricio Carballo, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician and gastroenterologist with special interests in management of chronic liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Carballo earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Mayor de San Simon in Cochabamba, Bolivia. He completed his internal medicine residency and his gastroenterology fellowship at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois. After completing his medical training, Dr. Carballo worked as a hospitalist and gastroenterologist for over 10 years before coming to Kettering Health.

He chose to become a physician because he always wanted to go into a career that was fulfilling and at the same time affect others in a positive way.

Outside of patient care, Dr. Carballo enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, and traveling.
