About Me
Mary Fessner-Tarjanyi, BSN, IBCLC, is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), the highest accredited healthcare professional specializing in lactation. She has special interests in flange sizing, assisting working parents, whole-person wellness, and teaching that breastfeeding is more than nutrition. She became a lactation consultant because she struggled to breastfeed her first child and recognized she wouldn't have reached her feeding goals without the help of a lactation consultant. The care and support she received inspired her to want to help others like her.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wright State University. She also has a Bachelor of Music from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Music from Indiana University.
She utilizes a holistic patient-centered approach to lactation care. Her goal is to help families reach their breastfeeding goal by creating individualized plans that work to meet their unique needs.
Mary is married and has four children, all of whom were breastfed. She is an Air Force veteran and implemented a breastfeeding support group for her military community in 2012. When she's not helping families, she enjoys the three Rs: reading, running, and riding rollercoasters.
