Marryanne Allen, APRN-CNP, is a nurse practitioner working in cancer care with a special interest in preventative cancer screenings.

She earned her Master of Science in nursing-family nurse practitioner from the University of South Alabama. Marryanne came to Kettering Health with almost 20 years of experience in healthcare as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner. She previously worked as a nurse practitioner in surgical oncology in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Marryanne became an advanced practice provider to provide more comprehensive care to her patients and to have greater autonomy in their care. She particularly enjoys the advanced practice provider role in a surgical service line as it allows more time for patient care and education, leading to improved patient experiences and outcomes.

In her spare time, Marryanne enjoys reading, traveling, and cheering on the University of Kentucky basketball team. She is originally from Georgetown, Kentucky, and she and her spouse have three children.

A certified nurse practitioner (CNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse. They hold a master’s or doctoral degree and have advanced clinical training. They collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
