About Me
Katy Boyd, BSN, IBCLC, has been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), the highest accredited healthcare professional specializing in lactation for over a decade. She has a special interest in self-care and mental health because she knows it is vital to care for oneself to care for others. She became a lactation consultant because of her own struggles with breastfeeding, which fueled her passion to help families achieve their feeding goals, whatever they might be.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University and has experience as a maternity care nurse for over two decades in both inpatient and outpatient care. She also teaches breastfeeding classes for Kettering Health as part of the Childbirth Education program.
She believes in patient-centered care and that the entire family is involved in feeding and needs to be included for a smooth transition with their newest addition. She understands everyone has unique needs and preferences and that every family deserves personalized care that aims to maximize the health and wellness of the family.
Katy enjoys attending conferences and educational opportunities to continue learning and understanding the latest evidence-based information on breastfeeding. When she's not caring for her patients, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dogs, kayaking, camping, pickleball, and scrapbooking.
