Katelyn Wilson, APRN-CNP, is a nurse practitioner working in heart and vascular with special interests in gerontology and mental health.
She earned her Master of Science in nursing-nurse practitioner from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Katelyn worked as a registered nurse for over five years before becoming an advanced practice provider.
Katelyn became a nurse practitioner because she always envisioned herself advancing her education and nursing career. She also wanted to be able to provide the best care possible while having more autonomy and a better work-life balance. In her spare time, Katelyn enjoys reading, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and all things music. She loves to spend time with her dogs, doing makeup, being outdoors, and playing recreational volleyball.
What is a Certified Nurse Practitioner?
A certified nurse practitioner (CNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse. They hold a master’s or doctoral degree and have advanced clinical training. They collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
