About Me
Julie Gilkeson, MD, FACS, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained vascular surgeon. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a credential given to surgeons whose education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation.
Dr. Gilkeson moved to the Dayton area in 2012 after graciously accepting an offer to join Dayton Surgeons, Inc., a surgical practice that had been in Dayton since 1952. She is a highly skilled and experienced vascular surgeon who is compassionate and dedicated to the care of her patients.
Dr. Gilkeson is deeply involved in the education of medical students and surgical residents at Wright State University School of Medicine with the designation of Associate Clinical Professor. Without hesitation, she performs hours of charitable surgery.
Scope of Service
**Vascular Surgery**
Dr. Gilkeson performs open and endovascular peripheral vascular surgeries with a special interest in limb salvage. Arterial procedures involve the internal carotid arteries, the abdominal aorta, the internal abdominal arterial system, and all the arterial branches into the arms and legs, down to the toes. The venous system mimics the arterial system. She also performs the construction of arteriovenous fistulae and the placement of peritoneal catheters for dialysis patients.
