About Me
John Sawvel, DO, is a board-certified family medicine physician. His scope of practice includes primary care, preventative care, chronic and acute conditions, elbow, hip, and knee joint injections, cryotherapy, skin biopsies, and osteopathic manipulative treatment.
Dr. Sawvel earned his Doctorate degree from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served in two family practice residencies, with one being at Grandview Medical Center (now Kettering Health Dayton). Prior to joining Kettering Health, Dr. Sawvel practiced family medicine for 20 years in Beavercreek.
In his free time, Dr. Sawvel enjoys spending time with his family; playing basketball, tennis, and golf; and mountain biking. He is passionate about using the gifts and talents God has given him to help others.

My philosophy of care is to empower my patient by helping them understand their disease state and guiding them through the decision-making process.
