Jessica "Jess" Blank, APRN-CNP, is a nurse practitioner working in critical care with special interests in vascular access, point-of-care ultrasounds, and wilderness medicine.

She earned her Master of Science in nursing from The Ohio State University. Prior to her role with Kettering Health, Jess worked in the pulmonary critical care/ medical intensive care unit in Edgewood, Kentucky.

Jess worked in the critical care unit during the early days of COVID-19 and saw the critical care nurse practitioners and what they did. She thought they were heroes and wanted to be one of them, which inspired her to become an advanced practice provider. In her spare time, Jess enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, and biking. She also knows how to speak four different languages.

This provider specializes in caring for patients during their stay in the hospital, overseeing their treatment and guiding them to recovery. After you’re discharged, you will be seen by your regular specialist or primary care provider.

This provider is a resource provider for Kettering Health Medical Group. Resource providers offer the Medical Group team valuable support, ensuring we can continue to see patients without interruption when other providers need to take vacation or personal days.

What is a Certified Nurse Practitioner?

A certified nurse practitioner (CNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse. They hold a master’s or doctoral degree and have advanced clinical training. They collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
