Courtney Pemberton, APRN-CNP, is a nurse practitioner working in critical care with special interests in acute care, pulmonary medicine, and chronic disease management.

She earned her Master of Science in nursing from Northern Kentucky University. Before her role at Kettering Health, Courtney has worked in different hospital positions for over a decade.

Courtney chose to become an advanced practice provider because of her deep love of caring for people and her desire to make a meaningful difference in her patients' lives. In her spare time, she loves being a mother, taking care of her pets, and watching her sons play travel hockey.

This provider specializes in caring for patients during their stay in the hospital, overseeing their treatment and guiding them to recovery. After you’re discharged, you will be seen by your regular specialist or primary care provider.

This provider is a resource provider for Kettering Health Medical Group. Resource providers offer the Medical Group team valuable support, ensuring we can continue to see patients without interruption when other providers need to take vacation or personal days.

What is a Certified Nurse Practitioner?

A certified nurse practitioner (CNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse. They hold a master’s or doctoral degree and have advanced clinical training. They collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
