Abbey Hendershott, APRN-CNP, is a nurse practitioner specializing in family practice and working in primary care. She has special interests in pediatrics, comprehensive patient care, and counseling.

Abbey earned her Master of Science in nursing-nurse practitioner degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Prior to her role, she worked in pediatrics and women's health for over a decade and in family practice for over five years.

Initially, Abbey didn't know she wanted to work in healthcare. However, as she gained experience in the field, she discovered a deep passion for helping people and making a real impact on their lives. Becoming a nurse practitioner allowed Abbey to combine her desire to care for others with the opportunity to form meaningful, long-term relationships with patients. Now, she loves being able to educate her patients and simplify the management of their chronic conditions.

In her spare time, Abbey enjoys baking, building Legos, crocheting, and knitting. She loves spending time with her family and learning and growing in all areas of life.

A certified nurse practitioner (CNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse. They hold a master’s or doctoral degree and have advanced clinical training. They collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
