Fort Hamilton Hospital is celebrating the opening of its Liberty Point Wound Care Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and public open house on Tuesday, May 26. The ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 4:00 p.m. followed by the open house at 4:30 p.m. Liberty Pointe Wound Care Center is located at 7117 Dutchland Parkway in Liberty Township.
The Wound Care Center specializes in the treatment of chronic or difficult-to-heal wounds, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure therapies, and skin substitutes. A member of the Healogics™ network, the Wound Care Center employs a rigorous scientific approach to explore, test, find and develop the clinically proven methods and technologies which reintroduce the body's innate ability to heal.
Likely candidates for treatment at the new center are those suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, radiation injuries to soft tissue and bone, compromised skin grafts and flaps, and wounds that haven't healed within 30 days.
