Nirmala Abraham, MD, attended medical school at Loma Linda University.
She completed her internship at Kettering Health Main Campus and her residency in anesthesiology at the University of Pennsylvania. Her interventional pain management fellowship was at the University of California, Los Angeles. She holds board certification in Pain Medicine. Dr. Abraham began her career at the UCLA Pain Management Center as the Assistant Director for the clinic and the fellowship training program. She also served as an Assistant Professor for the Department of Anesthesiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine. In 2010, Dr. Abraham was recruited by Kettering Health to establish an outpatient clinic and inpatient pain program.
Dr. Abraham's goal is to provide compassionate, comprehensive care to each patient in collaboration with their treatment team to achieve the highest level of pain relief and functional restoration.
Scope of Service
Dr. Abraham provides each patient with a customized and comprehensive treatment plan to help reduce and cope with pain. Whenever possible, a conservative, non-invasive course of treatment will be recommended. She uses interventional techniques such as nerve blocks, joint injections and radiofrequency ablation to treat both acute and chronic pain conditions. She also offers surgical techniques such as intrathecal drug delivery pumps and neurostimulators.
