Michael "Mike" Schaeffer, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist and interventional cardiologist working in heart and vascular with a focus on interventional cardiology. More specifically, he concentrates on heart valves and other minimally invasive cardiac procedures.

Dr. Schaeffer earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. He also completed his internal medicine internship and residency, along with his cardiology fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Schaeffer then went on to complete his interventional cardiology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He worked as an interventional cardiologist for over 15 years in Lexington, Kentucky, and 2 years at the St. Louis VA Hospital before his role at Kettering Health.

Dr. Schaeffer chose to become a physician because of the fascinating science, personal challenge, and the opportunity to be an important part of other people's lives.

Outside of patient care, Dr. Schaeffer enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and biking.
