Matthew Garrett, MD, PhD, specializes in neurosurgery. He performs minimally invasive spine surgery, a unique treatment option that differentiates him from other providers in the region.
Dr. Garrett graduated with distinction from Yale University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. He went on to complete his medical degree from Columbia University in New York in 2009. While in medical school, Dr. Garrett was part of the Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship, working in the Columbia University Neuro-vascular Lab. After medical school, he completed his residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Department of Neurosurgery. While completing his residency, Dr. Garrett earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Neuroscience from UCLA.
Dr. Garrett enjoys being active in his free time. In high school, he played varsity baseball and tennis. He has completed five marathons and loves to play golf.
