Madison "Maddie" Selby, APRN-CNP, is a nurse practitioner working and specializing in general surgery.

She earned her Master of Science in nursing-nurse practitioner from the University of Cincinnati. Prior to her role with Kettering Health, Maddie worked as a registered nurse for a few years, gaining valuable clinical experience as a part of her training to become a nurse practitioner.

Maddie knew that she wanted to become a nurse practitioner, even before becoming a nurse. It wasn't until she became a nurse, that she fully realized what becoming a nurse practitioner meant. She always wanted to provide the best care possible for others. Being a nurse was one of the things she was most proud of. And now, being a nurse practitioner, she knows she can continue the journey of helping others in any way she can.

Outside of patient care, Maddie enjoys spending time with her spouse and her dog, riding on her peloton, making sourdough, and reading books.

What is a Certified Nurse Practitioner?

A certified nurse practitioner (CNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse. They hold a master’s or doctoral degree and have advanced clinical training. They collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
