About Me
Kurian "Thomas" Maliel, MD, is a board-certified internal and nuclear medicine physician as well as a cardiovascular physician working in cardiology. His areas of interest include preventive cardiology, vascular disease, nuclear imaging, coronary artery disease, and risk factor management, for conditions such as hypertension and cholesterol.
Dr. Maliel earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma. He then went on to complete his internship, residency, and fellowship all at the San Antonio Uniform Health Education Consortium in Texas. Dr. Maliel worked as a full-time active-duty Air Force physician at Wright Patterson Medical Center after he completed his medical training.
One of the reasons that Dr. Maliel chose to become a physician is that he was drawn to the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives during some of their most vulnerable moments. Cardiology allows him to combine problem-solving with long-term patient relationships, helping individuals improve both the length and quality of their lives.
Outside of patient care, Dr. Maliel enjoys spending time with his family.
