Dr. Risner is a board-certified OB-GYN, welcoming new patients of all ages.

She specializes in routine and high-risk obstetrics; family planning, including Nexplanon and IUDs; polycystic ovarian syndrome; heave vaginal bleeding; perimenopausal or menopausal issues. Her skill set includes minimally invasive surgeries such as laparoscopy, robotic-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomies, tubal ligations, hysteroscopic myomectomies (removing fibroids without abdominal incisions), and endometrial ablations.

Dr. Risner was born and raised in West Virginia and first left the state to attend college at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. There she graduated cum laude with a biology degree. She then returned to West Virginia for medical school at West Virginia University School of Medicine and graduated in 1996. She completed six years of specialty training with two years of a family medicine residency followed by four years of an obstetrics and gynecology residency. After residency, she had wanderlust and moved to Seattle, Washington where she was in private practice for seven years. Not because of the weather (it really does not rain as much as you are led to believe) but because of family, Dr. Risner moved to Ohio and has been practicing in Hamilton, Ohio since 2008.

She has been an active member of the hospital and community. She has served and continues to serve on committees, including Credentials and Physician Leadership Group. Most recently she was inducted into the Greater Cincinnati Healers Hall of Fame which is an award chosen by insurance companies and patients for providing excellent patient care. She learns as much from her patients as they, hopefully, learn from her, and she truly enjoys developing those relationships and collaborating with her patients to determine the best plan of care for them.
