About Me
Kathryn "Katie" Koble, APRN-CNP, is a nurse practitioner working in urology.
She earned her Doctor of nursing-family nurse practitioner degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Katie worked for over a decade as a nurse, before becoming an advanced practice provider (APP).
Katie became an APP because she wanted to continue to build strong relationships with patients and to have more autonomy and responsibility. She also wanted to become an APP because she loves to learn and feel challenged, and this presented her an opportunity to push herself.
Outside of patient care, Katie enjoys spending time with her two young children and family, being outdoors, and being a cheerleading coach. She also loves working out, whether it is exercising on her Peloton or clearing her mind on a long run.
What is a Certified Nurse Practitioner?
A certified nurse practitioner (CNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse. They hold a master’s or doctoral degree and have advanced clinical training. They collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
