Juanita Krisher, APRN-CNP, is a nurse practitioner working in Wound Care with a special interest in chronic wound management.

She earned her Master of Science in nursing-nurse practitioner and her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the College of Nursing at Chamberlain University. Juanita also earned her associate degree in nursing from Kettering College. She spent 22 years in emergency medicine and was a sexual assault nurse examiner for 15 years.

Juanita became a nurse practitioner for increased autonomy and to provide more individualized care for wound and ostomy patients. She is a mother of four children— two of them being in the military, and one of her daughters plays in the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Juanita and her spouse are band boosters and stay busy with after-school activities. She is also a brain tumor survivor and has been a wound care patient after a near-fatal motorcycle accident.

What is a Certified Nurse Practitioner?

A certified nurse practitioner (CNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse. They hold a master’s or doctoral degree and have advanced clinical training. They collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
