Jeri Downey, APRN-CNP, is a certified nurse practitioner specializing in gastroenterology and pain management. Her areas of interest include wellness, chronic disease management, lifestyle, older adults, and nutrition and exercise.
She earned her Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kettering College. Jeri previously worked in pain management for Kettering Health.
In her spare time, Jeri enjoys traveling, reading, and camping. She also loves to go hiking, especially with her golden retriever, James.
What is a Certified Nurse Practitioner?
A certified nurse practitioner (CNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse. They hold a master’s or doctoral degree and have advanced clinical training. They collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
