Hannah Moore, APRN-CNP, is a certified nurse practitioner specially trained in the care of hospitalized patients.
What is a Certified Nurse Practitioner?
A certified nurse practitioner (CNP) is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. They hold a master's or doctoral degree and have advanced clinical training. They collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
Hospitalists do not accept appointments—they provide specialized care for those who are inpatients within a hospital or medical center.
When working with my patients, I listen, answer questions, and provide the education they need. I believe that involving patients in their own healthcare gives them a sense of ownership and responsibility which leads to self-empowerment.
