What is a Certified Nurse Midwife?
A certified nurse midwife (CNM) is an advanced practice registered nurse. They hold a master’s or doctoral degree with specialized training in Women’s Health and a concentration in pregnancy, labor, birth, and care after birth. Midwives affirm the strength of women and recognize the importance of a woman’s well-being through every stage of life. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.

Care Philosophy
My philosophy is consistent with the American College of Nurse-Midwives, recognizing pregnancy and birth as a natural part of life. I enjoy working with expectant mothers who are engaged in achieving what they want out of their life experiences, and especially what they want out of their own, very personal, birth experience.
