Carmen Gruia, APRN-CNP, is a family nurse practitioner working in primary care practice. She provides physical examinations, treats chronic and acute illnesses and minor injuries, and offers assessments and diagnoses. 

Carmen earned a Master of Science in nursing-family nurse practitioner from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Walla Walla University in College Place, Washington. She has experience in acute and chronic care, post-hospital follow-up care, women's health, preventive screenings, and wellness visits. Carmen also has extensive experience in general, vascular, robotic, orthopedic, cardiac, gynecologic, neurologic, ENT, thoracic, plastic, and urologic surgeries as a registered nurse.

Outside her practice, Carmen enjoys cooking, traveling, gardening, interior design, the beach, and spending quality time with friends and family. She also attended the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada and loves singing. Carmen speaks English, Dutch, and Romanian.

What is a Certified Nurse Practitioner?

A certified nurse practitioner (CNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse. They hold a master’s or doctoral degree and have advanced clinical training. They collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
