Brittany Flynn, APRN-CNP, is a nurse practitioner working in heart and vascular care with special interests in cardiology. Some of the areas Brittany focuses on are coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, peripheral arterial disease, atrial fibrillation, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.

She earned her Master of Science in nursing-nurse practitioner from Wright State University. Brittany worked as a registered nurse for six years, before becoming an advanced practice provider (APP). She then worked for six years as a nurse practitioner, including three years in heart and vascular care, prior to coming to Kettering Health.

Brittany chose to become an APP to take on a more advanced and autonomous role in managing complex conditions while delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care that addresses the whole person and improves overall well-being.

Outside of patient care, Brittany enjoys traveling anywhere tropical, watching football, and spending time with her family and her dog.

What is a Certified Nurse Practitioner?

A certified nurse practitioner (CNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse. They hold a master’s or doctoral degree and have advanced clinical training. They collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
