We make a difference in our communities because of our outstanding people. And in April, we recognized several team members as Employee of the Month for putting our mission into action each day.
Employee of the Month recognizes the people you love to work with. The winners exhibit Kettering Health’s Standards of Behavior, live out our values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care.
Thank you for impacting the lives of those in our community by fulfilling our mission. Our work wouldn’t be possible without you!

Some people make the busiest shifts feel a little more human, and Rory is one of those people.
Rory brings extraordinary compassion, patience, and positivity to every patient and teammate she serves. No matter how demanding the day becomes, Rory remains calm, kind, and fully present. During one recent shift, she spent nearly 10 minutes carefully repositioning a patient, adjusting pillows, changing angles, and making sure he was truly comfortable. Even after that, the patient continued to need assistance every 10-20 minutes, and, each time, Rory responded with the same warm smile and willingness to help.
She ensured the patient felt heard, cared for, and supported during a difficult moment, while also showing peers what exceptional service looks like under pressure. Her steady compassion created comfort for the patient and inspired those around her to lead with patience rather than frustration.
“She truly has the patience and compassion of a saint. I strive to be more like her each and every day.”
Rory, thank you for the heart you bring to your work. Congratulations on being Employee of the Month.
Aiden is constantly in motion, always looking for ways to support the unit, assist coworkers, and meet the needs of patients. No request is too small, and no challenge seems to slow him down. Patients consistently praise Aiden for making them feel valued, cared for, and never like a burden. His humility and joyful attitude create a sense of comfort that leaves a lasting impression on everyone around him.
Recently, after completing a 12-hour shift during a snowstorm and knowing he had to return the next morning, Aiden still went outside to help coworkers shovel off their cars so they could get home safely. That simple yet meaningful act showed the depth of his character and commitment to others.
Aiden’s actions reflect our values of Wholeness through the compassionate care he gives patients, and Leadership through stepping up when others need help most.
Aiden, thank you for the positivity, heart, and dedication you bring to every shift. We are so happy to have you here at Kettering Health, and we want to extend our warmest congratulations on being named Employee of the Month.
Some people solve problems with skill, but Katie solves them with heart.
She consistently goes above and beyond to make each person feel seen, understood, and supported. Whether helping patients contact their pharmacy, connecting them with community resources, or carefully reviewing instructions, Katie takes the time to ensure no one leaves without the help they need. She is known for finding solutions and advocating for patients in ways that make a lasting difference.
Recently, while checking out an elderly patient, Katie learned the patient had recently purchased a used car and could not figure out how to turn on the heat. With cold snow and blowing winds outside, Katie immediately recognized the seriousness of the situation. Without hesitation, she walked the patient to the car and showed her how to operate the heat controls, resolving what had become a major concern.
Katie’s actions reflect our value of Excellence through the thoughtful, dependable, high-quality care she provides in every interaction. She notices needs others may miss and takes action to ensure patients feel supported and safe.
“Katie’s actions have helped make our office a place where patients know they can come and get help with anything.”
Katie, thank you for the compassion and excellence you bring to every patient you serve. We are honored to announce you as Employee of the Month.
Some of the most important work happens quietly in the background, and Ben is a perfect example of that impact.
Ben’s steady dedication, responsiveness, and reliability help to strengthen our team every day. He is consistently available, quick to respond, and always follows through, whether answering a message from home or stepping in on site to solve a problem. Ben makes sure no concern is left unresolved, giving staff confidence that help is always within reach.
His value becomes especially clear during downtime events, when technology issues can slow or even halt patient care. During extended outages, Ben has ensured staff had the tools they needed to continue serving patients. Most recently, he immediately stepped in during a downtime event to set up a printer and computer without hesitation, helping the team get back on track quickly. His calm, respectful, and solution focused approach helps others feel supported even in stressful moments.
Ben’s actions reflect our value of Excellence through the dependable, thoughtful, and high-quality support he provides behind the scenes. Because of his commitment, staff can stay focused on what matters most: caring for patients.
“Ben may be quiet and never seeks recognition, but he absolutely deserves it.”
Ben, thank you for the excellence, humility, and dedication you bring to your work every day. Congratulations.

When an unexpected project required immediate attention, Jessica and Mary stepped in without hesitation.
Asked to pause their regular responsibilities and quickly gather historical information, both women went straight to work with flexibility and determination. The project required locating past data under tight timelines, and each brought unique strengths to the task. Mary uncovered information that had been buried in old records, while Jessica carefully retyped tables that would not convert into Word format so the final materials could be completed correctly. Their teamwork, resourcefulness, and willingness to adapt kept the project moving forward when time mattered most.
Because of their extra effort, work that could have taken twice as long was completed efficiently and on schedule. Even more impressive, once the urgent need was met, both returned to their regular workloads without a single complaint.
“Without their efforts, this work would have taken twice as long and might not have been completed in a timely manner.”
Jessica and Mary exemplify Leadership, Excellence, and Belonging through collaboration, dedication, and a readiness to help when it matters most. Congratulations, Jessica and Mary, and thank you for your outstanding commitment to Kettering College.
