About Me
Shashank Sarvepalli, MD, is a gastroenterologist with a subspecialty interest in motility disorders.
Dr. Sarvepalli earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Boston University. After completing his medical education, he completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic and a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Sarvepalli is trained in diagnosing and managing various conditions affecting the gastrointestinal (GI) system. He has additional training in various modalities to diagnose motility disorders such as acid reflux, trouble swallowing, gastroparesis, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhea, diseases of the anorectum, and other functional bowel disorders. He is also interested in gastrointestinal cancer screening, cirrhosis, and inflammatory bowel disease.
When Dr. Sarvepalli is not helping his patients, he enjoys meditation, yoga, and spending time with his family.

Care Philosophy
The physician-patient relationship is sacred, and I take the trust my patients place in me very seriously. Given the complex ways in which gastrointestinal disorders can affect an individual and cause suffering, physician-patient communication takes on a greater relevance in this particular medical specialty. My goal is to first listen to my patients' concerns respectfully and empathetically. Next, with the patient as my equal partner, I aim to thoughtfully formulate a plan of action uniquely suited to my patients. Herein lies the art of medicine, which I find to be meaningful and fulfilling.
