Diabetes and wounds are a dangerous combination. Southview Medical Center is hosting a seminar for people interested in managing diabetes properly and preventing foot wounds. The seminar will be held on Wednesday, January 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Southview is located at 1997 Miamisburg-Centerville Road in Washington Township, conveniently off I-675.
Lunch will be provided.
Louis Pilati, MD will speak about the dangers of wounds, and treatment options if a wound does occur. Dr. Pilati is the medical director of the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Center at Sycamore Medical Center. He is board certified in emergency and hyperbaric medicine.
An expert from Kettering Health Network Diabetes & Nutrition Center will discuss diabetes management.
