There continues to be confusion around masking. To help clarify the policy, a standard operating procedure has been outlined for locations across our system.
Monday through Friday, each site has an individual identified to update the signage at the entrances, based on the CDC map of community transmission.
For our 24-7 campuses, signage will be updated before 5 a.m. each day. For our other sites, signage should be updated when the building/department opens. Please use the signs at the entrances to determine the level of masking required for that day. Click here to view the full SOP document.
When community transmission is red, all staff and visitors in patient-facing and public areas must wear masks. Examples of areas where masking is not required are administrative spaces and departments that do not have patients or visitors in them (ex: Lab).
For those who like to look up the reference:
The CDC updates its map Monday-Friday by 8 p.m. The link can be accessed from the Kettering Health intranet. The map shown in the sample screenshot below is what shows community transmission levels, and thus what should be used to determine mask policy.
