Did you know that nurses make up 27% of our employees? To celebrate National Nurses Week, Kettering Health Network is holding festivities May 6-12 to recognize the hard work of our nursing care teams and share our pride for the profession.
Chair Massages
Self-care is important. To support the wellness of our nursing teams, professional massage therapists will visit each hospital and additional locations to offer free, five-minutes massages.
Blessing of the Hands
Our faith-based mission compels us to care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. The Spiritual Services team will tour nursing units and perform ceremonies at major campuses to bless the hands of our nurses who do sacred work.
Cameos of Caring Banquet
The Cameos of Caring banquet will honor this year’s nominees from each hospital and celebrate past winners of the prestigious award. Honorees represent the best of the best in nursing and were nominated by peers and selected by nursing leadership. Attendees of this invitation-only event will be entered in a door prize drawing. Winners of this award will be announced, and are submitted to the community-wide Cameos event sponsored by Wright State.
Walk in My Shoes
Leaders at each hospital will do Walk in My Shoes with select nurses, getting a glimpse into the everyday life of a nurse and appreciating all they bring to our mission. This gives leaders the opportunity to experience the joys and challenges of nursing at Kettering Health Network.
Breakfast On-the-go
Our nurses are always on-the-go, and we want to show our appreciation for them in a way they can easily enjoy. A grab-and-go boxed breakfast catered by Panera will be offered to nursing teams.
