The flu is a highly contagious disease, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May.
To help protect area residents from getting and spreading the flu, Kettering Health Network is offering free drive-thru flu shots between October 22 and October 27 at the network’s 10 emergency centers and two locations in Middletown and Troy—just drive up and roll up your sleeve!

This unique program also serves as an emergency preparedness exercise in the event Kettering Health Network must activate a mass immunization program.
Who is Eligible for the Free Drive-Thru Flu Shot
Adults, 18 years and older, with a valid ID
Who Is Not Eligible for the Free Drive-Thru Flu Shot
Children—They require a different dosage of the flu vaccine, which we do not have at our drive-thru locations.
The free flu shots will be administered by experienced nurses who will be supported in the field by physicians, critical care teams, first responders and network volunteers. For quick service, please wear short or easy-to-roll-up sleeves.
Nearly 5,000 area residents will be offered free flu shots on a first-come, first-served basis, while quantities last.
