Kettering Health Network is hosting a seminar on advanced treatment options for brain tumors, including difficult-to-access tumors. The seminar will be held on Thursday, September 7 at Moraine Country Club, located at 4075 Southern Blvd. in Kettering.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a mini health fair. Refreshments will be served.
At 6:00 p.m., Kettering Physician Network neurosurgeon Aqueel Pabaney, MD, will talk about the range of treatment options available for brain tumors, including the:
- Gamma Knife® Perfexion™ brain treatment system—it’s not a knife, but a machine that directs precisely focused beams of radiation at the affected area in the brain without harming healthy tissue. It provides the most precise brain treatment in the world.
- NeuroBlate® System—a minimally invasive, image-guided laser therapy can be precisely controlled to kill abnormal tissue while doing as little harm as possible to surrounding healthy tissue. It can also be used with patients who have tumors in areas of the brain that are difficult to access by traditional open surgery without harming essential functions like speech, vision, and muscle control.
The event is free but seating is limited. Register online here, or call (937) 558-3988
