Kettering Health Network confirms that one patient has tested positive for COVID-19.
The patient, a male in his early 60s, was taken to Kettering Medical Center on Saturday, March 14, where providers met him outside the emergency department and escorted him directly to a negative pressure room to avoid exposure to anyone in the emergency department.
He was admitted to a negative pressure room for one night, then discharged home on Sunday, March 15, in good condition with instructions to self-isolate. In order to protect patient privacy, no other details will be provided. The patient was tested for COVID-19 while in the hospital. The results came back Wednesday, March 18, as positive.
Our physicians, nurses, caregivers and staff took all appropriate precautions to protect all patients and staff in accordance with U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) guidelines.
