I want to give a huge thank you to Dr. Joshua Hamilton and the other doctors from South Dayton Acute Care who treated and cared for my husband, Wendell Tarkenton, after he suffered a massive stroke on January 11, 2022. All doctors provided professional treatment and care for Wendell while he was in the ICU with a goal to stabilize him so he could come home.
Dr. Hamilton always showed his care for Wendell, the person not just a patient, and for me. After 16 days in ICU, he had the discussion about Wendell's quality of life and comfort care with me and my family and did it with kindness and compassion. Dr. Hamilton helped us so much as we made the decision to give Wendell comfort care. He was a blessing to me in a very difficult time.
