Some of the most meaningful acts of service happen when someone sees a need and steps in without being asked. That is exactly the kind of teammate Dave has been since joining the Troy campus. Although his primary role is in Police Services, Dave has repeatedly gone beyond his job responsibilities to support the Environmental Services team during periods of understaffing and increased workload.
From taking out trash and transporting linens to cleaning emergency department rooms and assisting with patient discharges, Dave consistently stepped in wherever help was needed to ensure patient care areas remained safe, clean, and ready for those who depended on them. His willingness to help across departments reflects a deep commitment to teamwork and patient care. Rather than seeing tasks as “someone else’s responsibility,” Dave approaches every challenge with a service-first mindset and a desire to support the entire campus.
Dave’s actions exemplify the Kettering Health values of Belonging, Leadership, and Excellence through his collaboration, reliability, and positive attitude. He has built strong relationships across departments and is known for treating patients and coworkers alike with kindness, respect, and professionalism.
We at KH Troy are thrilled to honor Dave with the Excellence in Action Award. Congratulations, Dave.
