Sometimes the greatest impact comes from simply helping someone feel safe, heard and cared for. David has a gift for doing just that, especially during moments when patients may be at their most overwhelmed.
Known by his teammates as the “psych whisperer,” David brings a calm, kind and nonjudgmental presence to every interaction. He consistently takes the time to connect with patients, often stepping in when someone is upset and helping them find a sense of calm when others have been unable to. His positive attitude and genuine compassion extend beyond patients, too. David is always ready with an encouraging word for his coworkers and contributes to a supportive environment where people feel valued.
His ability to meet people with patience and understanding reflects Wholeness, as he cares for the well-being of others with kindness and integrity. It also demonstrates Belonging by creating meaningful connections, even in difficult moments.

For more than 40 years, Pat has been sharing her knowledge and experience in a way that not only supports her team, but helps others grow into confident, capable laboratory professionals.
Pat is extremely knowledgeable, intelligent and dependable, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures. She is always willing to share her expertise, especially when training students and new staff members. She gives each trainee her full and undivided attention, taking the time to clearly explain procedures, demonstrate each step thoroughly and make sure they understand not only what to do, but why it is important.
Pat creates a positive and supportive learning environment where trainees feel comfortable asking questions. She reminds them that there are no “stupid questions,” helping build confidence and encouraging them to keep learning. She makes hands-on experience a priority, knowing it is essential to developing technologists who feel comfortable and prepared to work independently.
Pat’s dedication to teaching and mentoring embodies our KH values of Learning and Excellence, strengthening her team and ultimately supporting high-quality patient care.

Some of the most important work happens behind the scenes, and Ryan from Biomed is a perfect example of how that work can make a lasting difference.
When the department replaced its X-ray machine last December, the installation and transition brought more challenges than expected. Throughout the many issues and obstacles, Ryan remained a dependable partner. He responded promptly whenever problems arose and repeatedly rearranged his schedule to come onsite, troubleshoot issues, and help keep operations moving with as little disruption as possible. From helping with a loaner portable unit during the transition to responding to the department’s most recent X-ray shutdown, Ryan has been there every step of the way.
Ryan’s dedication, responsiveness and countless hours of work have had a meaningful impact not only on the department, but on the patients who rely on its services. His work reflects Excellence through his reliability, as well as Belonging through his commitment to teamwork and partnership.
