Kettering Health is committed to Just Culture and Patient Safety. Through Press Ganey’s Zero Harm initiative, we have a goal of reducing Serious Reportable Events (SRE) 80% by 2025, and Great Catches help us reach that goal.
Additionally, we’re working toward a goal of increasing Great Catch submissions in 2023 by a threshold of 10%, target of 15%, and stretch of 20%.
A Great Catch is when someone proactively prevents harm from reaching the patient. Great Catches allows us to learn from each other and help avoid future errors. They offer an opportunity to recognize employees for catching mistakes early so we can continue providing high-quality care to our community.
How to submit a Great Catch
As a reminder, you can easily access the Great Catch form by navigating to the intranet and clicking “Great Catch Submission” in the Quick Links section on the right side of the homepage. You can also access the form directly here.
Great Catches are celebrated each day at campus Daily Safety Briefings. Each month, Kettering Health selects a Great Catch of the Month, with a yearly winner selected and celebrated at the annual Quality Banquet.
