Soin Medical Center will host a community open house on June 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to tour the new Dona Sheley Women’s Health Center. A panel of physicians will be available to answer women’s health questions. Snacks and refreshments will be served. You can register online, here.
The Dona Sheley Women’s Health Center now offers a comprehensive range of women’s health services in one convenient location.
The center features a new Kettering Breast Evaluation Center, offering patients a relaxing environment that is easily accessible from any entrance at Soin Medical Center. Services include a full range of breast diagnostic services including 3D mammography, and osteoporosis diagnostic services.
Also home to Kettering Physician Network Women’s Health – Advanced Women’s Healthcare, the center will have full range of obstetrics and gynecology services. With experienced physicians, certified nurse practitioners and certified nurse midwives, the center is equipped to care for women at every stage of life’s journey.
The center recognizes Dona Sheley, a longtime resident of Jamestown in Greene County who served as a music teacher most of her working life. She was best known for her care and compassion for others and intended to show that care beyond her lifetime. Dona left a significant portion of her estate to Greene Medical Foundation as an endowment.
A portion of its proceeds is designated to provide cancer prevention and detection services for the residents of Greene County. Greene Medical Foundation underwrote the center with proceeds from Dona Sheley’s endowment fund and chose to name the center in honor of Dona and her caring spirit.
