Renovations are complete for a new Kettering Health training facility aimed at onboarding and continuing education for clinical staff. Located at 2040 Dorothy Lane Rd., the Kettering Health Training Center utilizes a former COVID-19 vaccine clinic. The 11,750-sq.-ft. center now supports the system’s continued investment in nursing and clinical precision excellence. It does so with larger classrooms, modifiable class space, dedicated computer lab and simulation classrooms.
Renovations
Renovations to the space created large classrooms and modifiable class space to accommodate 50 to 150 students at a time. A dedicated computer lab and updated simulation classrooms round out the renovated space. The simulation classrooms contain two simulation manikins dedicated for nursing skill training and scenario-based training.
“We’re passionate about continuously improving the experience of our patients and caregivers through innovating new strategies to elevate our care,” Jennifer Shull, chief nursing officer for Kettering Health, said. “This upgraded center will provide our teams with important space to hone the clinical skills that complement the compassionate care they provide for our patients every day.”
Providing support
The space will be used for a majority of the clinical staff at Kettering Health. It supports not only the onboarding of nurses and nurse assistants, but also continuing education and professional development.
In addition to the enhanced learning spaces, the Kettering Health training center will also include a lactation room, Kettering Health employee badge access, and increased parking.
