Getting your flu shot protects you, your family, friends, co-workers, and patients–so we can guide each person to their best health.
Flu shots are required for all employees and volunteers, and there are many ways to get vaccinated.

Where to get a flu shot
- Campus clinics: Click here to download the schedule of free, on-campus flu shot clinics. Those who are required to complete an N95 fit test can complete it at the same time as their flu shot.
- Kroger Health: Visit your nearest Kroger Pharmacy or The Little Clinic and present the special employee voucher linked here.
- Primary care provider: You can receive a flu shot with your provider at your next visit.
- On-Demand Care: Visit one of our five On-Demand Care clinics. Call your location of choice ahead of time to find out the best time to walk in to receive your vaccine.
If you receive a flu shot from Kroger Health, a primary care provider, or an On-Demand Care clinic, please fax or email your flu shot record to ehprograms@ketteringhealth.org or (937) 522-9295.
Exemptions
The deadline to submit a medical or lifetime religious exemption has passed. If you have been previously approved for a lifetime medical or religious exemption, you do not need to re-submit.
Note: Employees who are granted either exemption are highly encouraged to wear a mask while at work during flu season to protect yourself, your loved ones, and our patients from the virus.

N95 fit testing
Kettering Health has evolved into a blended N95 and PAPR organization. As a result, OSHA requires annual N95 fit testing to ensure we’re providing a maximum level of protection to our workforce.
Please note: In May, employees were required to do a fit test for new N95s. Even though you tested in May, you are required to test again—putting us back on track with our annual testing cycle.
To complete the mandatory compliance, we ask required employees to
- Complete a qualitative fit test to safely identify the brand and size of N95 respirator to use.
- If unable to be safely placed in an N95 respirator, staff will be declared as a PAPR only wearer.
- The most common reason for failing a N95 fit test is facial hair. Please make sure your beards are trimmed/groomed accordingly here.
Not sure if you need to be fit tested? If you meet any of the criteria below, you do need to be fit tested
- Perform aerosolizing procedure on patients
- Perform job duties on units with negative pressure rooms
- Work in Police/Security
- Handle/administer hazardous drugs
Click here to see a chart identifying all departments and roles required to complete the N95 fit test. Employees may also speak with their manager if they are unsure.
All patient-facing employees are NOT required to wear an N95 mask. Those choosing to wear a N95 mask in recommended areas should complete the HealthStream courses “KHN N95 Donning and Doffing” and “KHN Update to Using and Storing a Mask (COVID-19)”, and then perform the fit seal check prior to wearing the N95 mask.
