Over the past two years, Kettering Health has evolved into a blended N95 and PAPR organization. As a result, OSHA requires annual N95 fit testing. This test also ensures that you have the maximum level of protection.

To complete the annual mandatory compliance, we ask required workforce members to complete a qualitative fit test to safely identify the brand and size of N95 respirator to use. All employees who were fitted prior to August 1, 2022 will need to be fitted again, as this is an annual requirement.

If an employee is unable to be safely placed in an N95 respirator, they will be declared as a PAPR-only wearer. The most common reason for failing a N95 fit test is facial hair. Please ensure beards are trimmed/groomed in accordance with CDC guidance below:
