Michael Mewhirter has been promoted to president of Fort Hamilton Hospital. He succeeds Mark Smith, who has been named a vice president for Kettering Health Network.
Mewhirter has served as vice president of Operations and Finance at Fort Hamilton Hospital for the past year. His strengths include turning strategic initiatives into operational results, building alignments with the medical staff and network priorities, and demonstrating a balanced performance in all Key Result areas.
Prior to joining Fort Hamilton Hospital, Mewhirter held a number of key leadership positions at Florida Hospital, part of the Florida Hospital System. Mewhirter received his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and finance from Union College in Nebraska and an M.B.A. from Webster University in Florida.
